It all started with a pandemic-era Facebook singles group—as so many modern love stories do. Steph and Johnny were both part of the same group, casually engaging (stalking?) from quarantine. Johnny had a particularly enticing photo of himself with his dog, Teddy, which immediately caught Steph’s attention. Meanwhile, Steph’s then-pink hair and photos from her aerial classes (yes… that booty) definitely drew Johnny in. After weeks of playful back-and-forth in the group (Johnny claims he was planting seeds, Steph says she made the moves), fate intervened in the form of a donut post, which somehow turned into a comment about cheesecake that led to Steph *finally* sliding in to Johnny's DMs, and that is how this modern fairytale begins. After only a *brief* six weeks of nonstop messaging (heavy sarcasm), Johnny finally asked Steph out for frozen yogurt on July 14th. A second date just two days later—complete with a successful meet-and-greet between fur babies Teddy and Rosy to chase the big remote controlled squirrel—sealed the deal. Thanks to the pandemic, things moved quickly. Very quickly. Quarantining together fast-tracked everything, turning early couch dates into shared routines, deep conversations, and the realization that this just… worked. And it still does. These days, life together is full of small moments that somehow say everything: Steph secretly thinks it’s cute when Johnny wears his GoPro; Johnny faithfully puts ketchup on Steph’s omelets even though he finds it deeply unsettling. We work so well because one of us is weird and the other is weirder—though it’s still very much up for debate who’s who. Proof that sometimes a Facebook group, a bold DM, and the right dogs who love each other, too, really do lead to forever. *all professional engagement photos courtesy of Jessie Clicks (https://jessieclicksphotography.com/)
