What will I wear!?

Dressy-casual, please! Our venue is all outdoors and we want everyone to be comfy & cool. Dressy-casual!? What’s that? - Something maybe a little fancier than what you’d wear to work but not semi-formal or cocktail attire. Wear your finest picnic attire with comfy shoes! Think… glamping. GUYS- Khaki pants/dress slacks, long sleeve or short sleeve button down/dress shirts. Sport coats and ties are optional. LADIES- Sundresses, maxis, casual cocktail dresses, two piece sets with flats, sandals, or wedges (heels aren’t recommended.)

Where are y'all tying the knot?

Riverside Weddings by Clore 5927 River Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 The whole shebang will take place at Riverside- ceremony, cocktail hour, and party. The venue is all outdoors with tents, fans, and plenty of shade but please consider the weather and dress accordingly.

Well, what's the weather going to be like?

We can’t guarantee anything, but Virginia in September usually feels like summer- warm & humid. What's the vibe of this backyard bash?!

Answer

Casual backyard barbeque with a great live band, delicious food & drinks, dancing, lawn games, & mingling. There will be a few traditional wedding elements thrown into the night, but no seated dinner, speeches, cake cutting, or formal exit. The key words here are CASUAL, FUN, BACKYARD, PARTY. There will be plenty of seating for those that don't want to bust out their dance moves all night. Please email mayerandmeg2023@gmail.com if you have any food allergies.

What's the itinerary for the day looking like?

4:00 pm- Ceremony on the river. 4:20 pm- Cocktail hour- beer truck, wine & cocktail bar, hors d'oeuvres, & lawn games. 5:00 pm- BBQ buffet opens. (a few traditional elements thrown in there at some point.) 9:00 pm- Closing time....

Transportation

Answer

**We have two 7-passenger SUV shuttles arranged from 5:30-10:30 pm to transport you from the venue to wherever you need to go. Feel free to Uber to the venue and use the shuttle afterwards!** Locals- There is plenty of parking at the venue. Leaving cars overnight is encouraged and must be picked up by 11 am the next day.... be safe and just take an Uber! Out of Towners- There are plenty of ride sharing services such as Uber and Lyft to take you wherever you need to go!

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love all your little cuties but unfortunately this venue advises no kids because of its close proximity to the river. Due to this no kids will be allowed at the wedding to keep everyone safe and have fun! We want everyone to have a good time! Those traveling from out of town, please talk to Meghan and John and we can figure something out.

We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We look forward to celebrating with you on the day!
