Downtown Dahlonega is a must-see for anyone nearby. Hallmark movies have been filmed here, if that helps explain how cute this town is! An ice cream shop, fudge factory, toy store, dog boutique, general store, and more!
Best coffee shop in the area! Visit while shopping in downtown Dahlonega.
Our FAVORITE restaurant. It is located in downtown Dahlonega. Make sure you order the mac & cheese bites with a side of comeback sauce! After a day of shopping downtown, pop in for dinner!
Like a brewery, or winery, but with mead - an alcoholic drink made from honey! We love their specialty flavors, especially the peach habanero. They have a great vibe to sit and hang out while you try some drinks.
This winery has the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. Wine flights and charcuterie boards are a must.
Arguably the most beautiful winery. Absolutely incredible food options. The best location for a fancy dinner.
Another wonderful winery option. They have a high selection of wine flight options and a great seating area.
Did you know this area was originally known for its gold? Dahlonega has multiple gold mines, and we love this one! They take you deep into the mines that still house gold to this day. You can pan for gold, too! Such a fun tour!
This is a moderately challenging 3 mile trail around a large lake. There are bridges, stairs, and plenty of hills on the loop that circles the lake! We loved it, and Butters did too!
This is a mile-long, out and back, moderately intense hike. Johnathon and I completed this on a chilly afternoon in November, 2023. It is a small section of the Appalachian Trail and has a beautiful view at the top!
There is a small downtown area in Ellijay, the closest town to our venue. We spent one day exploring there, and enjoyed it! We ate at their pizza restaurant and got coffee.
The pizza restaurant we ate at! Delicious, but a small building!
Absolutely amazing coffee. Try their seasonal offers!
If you have an empty day, make the trip to Blue Ridge! The train takes you north into McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN - two towns on either side of the state border! They have wonderful restaurants and shops.
We haven't actually been here, but Jessica's family has, and they highly recommend! We HAVE tried their cider, and it may be the best we've ever had!
