We first formally met at the eye doctors office where Tia worked, although Johnny will tell you that he used to check her out in church years before this. Our first date was a little unusual in that we went to see Live and Breaking Benjamin in Hershey with several of Johnny’s family members and friends. Since then, our relationship has largely revolved around music and family.
Johnny took Tia on a romantic cruise which stopped in Jamaica, the Grand Caymen Islands, and Cozumel. He had planned to propose at sunset as we left port in Cozumel, but we hadn’t remembered to bring a corkscrew to open the wine. After learning that the uncorking fee at the bar was $75, he angrily trudged up the steps towards the sun deck. Luckily at the same time, a very drunk woman was coming down the steps. She slipped and fell and being the gentleman that he is, Johnny helped the woman back to her feet. She and her friend happened to be drinking wine and hooked us up with their corkscrew just in time for him to still propose at sunset.
Tia was presented with an opportunity to do research at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, so we packed up our things in August of 2017 and camped our way across the country. We took our time and over about two and a half weeks stopped at nine national parks along the way including Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, and Zion. Once we arrived, Johnny quickly found work, and we moved into a very cute apartment. Although we pay a premium for our flat, we frequently find ourselves sleeping in a tent next to a giant coastal redwood tree on one of our adventures. We find peace in the quiet nature of the forest and want to share that with all of you to celebrate our wedding. We hope that you will join us for some fun and relaxation at Camp Tioga.
