Why do you not have a registry for physical gifts?

Answer

Great question, we do not have a registry as John and I are currently living in Dallas, TX. Since we are getting married in California, it makes it difficult to bring wedding gifts home! Our apartment also drops our boxes at our front door but we will be unable to retrieve them while in CA. However, we are accepting red envelopes or contributions to our adventure fund in lieu of gifts if you so choose to provide. You can gift the red envelope during the tea ceremony or just slip it into wedding drop box.

A Chinese Tea Ceremony is one of the most significant events. In China, serving tea when guests come is a very traditional propriety. In a wedding, such an act is to show respect and gratitude to parents for all the years of love and care and respect to the family. After drinking the tea, red envelopes for the bride and groom will be presented.

Red envelopes are gifts presented at social and family gatherings such as weddings or holidays like Chinese New Year. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck. During the tea ceremony, you will be served tea and after you drink the tea, you gift the bride and groom a red envelope Avoid putting in funds that end with the number 4 for example $4, $14, $24 as the number 4 transcribes to death in Chinese. **Blank red envelopes will be available by the sign-in table if you so need one. As we encourage our guests to join in on our tradition, Please note: do not feel obligated to provide a red envelope to the bride and groom**

How do I get from my hotel to the venue?

Answer

Traveling from a hotel to a ceremony can sometimes be stressful! Luckily, the Sheraton Pasadena is very close by! You have the option to walk to the venue from the hotel, it is safe walk that only takes 9 minutes. You can take a quick Uber from the hotel to the venue, price range is $4-$6.

I'm driving, where should I park?

Answer

Lucky for you, there is a parking garage RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the venue! You should receive a validated ticket to use the day of the wedding! Park in the garage and cross the street to the venue and have a fun day!
