As you probably know, skiing/snowboarding is one of the many things John and I love to do together. Lucky for us, Utah has the best snow on earth! Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, Park City, Canyons, and Deer Valley are going to be the closest resorts to ski during your stay.
We love hiking, and while we're usually hiking in the winter when it involves a pair of skis, snowshoeing is an awesome alternative if you don't ski! We suggest going up Millcreek Canyon where the trails are usually packed down because many people still hike up there during winter. Following the trail up Rattlesnake Gulch and onto Pipeline trail will take you to a beautiful viewpoint of the Salt Lake City Valley. And, this hike is only about 3-3.5 miles round trip!
Drive 9 miles up the canyon, and you can't miss this popular sledding hill on the righthand side of the road. There is a large pullout for parking and a short walk up the road, past the winter gate, to your destination. We suggest typing Donut Falls into your smartphone maps and it will guide you right to it!
