Our love story began at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where our paths first crossed. According to John, he spotted me during orientation and was instantly captivated. However, I didn’t notice him at the time. Shortly after, our lives intersected occasionally on campus, but it wasn’t until a mutual friend played matchmaker that our story truly began. With a little encouragement and perfect timing, we were introduced, and sparks immediately flew. Sometimes, the greatest love is the one you weren’t looking for. We started going out on dates and quickly discovered some shared passions. Movies became our thing (we’re very proud A-List Stubs members), and we loved indulging in late-night Insomnia Cookie runs and exploring NYC museums together. We eventually moved in together, and everything was amazing until COVID hit. We hunkered down, waiting it out, and learned a lot about each other during that time. John is very particular about where things go and their symmetry, while Sandra could do without the hair trimmings on the sink. Sandra loves keeping the house at a brisk 67 degrees, while John rather not freeze to death. Despite these quirks, our bond only grew stronger. During the pandemic, we also adopted our giant schnauzer, Mando, who quickly became a beloved part of our lives. More recently, we added another member to our family, Solo, our sweet little cat. Since then, we’ve been tackling our work/life balance and always trying to spend quality time with each other. We’ve traveled, celebrated holidays, and created beautiful memories with friends and family. Then, on our seven-year anniversary, John decided that we had gone through enough learning and growing together, we were ready. He proposed, and Sandra had no idea it was coming. She sobbed and, of course, said yes! It was about time! That brings us to now, where we’re so excited to celebrate our love with everyone we hold special. The next chapter in our story will be even more beautiful than the last seven years have been.
