Starting with our hometown, and where John was raised, while Navan is always under construction, it still has loads to offer. *Newgrange - Located just outside Navan, Newgrange is a neolithic site that is older than the pyramids. It has been designated a world heritage site by UNESCO and is particularly important during the winter solstice. John and Molly biked here when celebrating Molly's birthday. For a second Molly thought she was dating Lance Armstrong, *Slane Castle - One of the most unique concert venues, Slane Castle is situated in the heart of the Boyne Valley. A beautiful, scenic, castle, you can visit here to enjoy high tea in the castle, a whiskey tasting or just a simple, serene walk. *Hill of Tara - A staple in our weekends, the Hill of Tara is a gorgeous historical site steeped in rich history for Ireland and mythology. As legend states, this is where St. Patrick banished the snakes from Ireland.
The capital city, Dublin has loads to offer and was where John and Molly met (even if Molly was 20 minutes late...). *Trinity College Dublin - One of the oldest Universities in the world, Trinity College is well worth the visit for their stunning campus. *Guinness Storehouse - Arguably one of the most known attractions in Ireland, Guinness Storehouse boasts one of the best pints in Ireland and has a stunning rooftop bar. Tickets must be booked in advance. *Howth Cliff Walk - Just outside Dublin City Center, Howth is amazing for an easy hike, fantastic seaside views and incredible seafood (Kin Sitric has the bet oysters!). Take the Dart to Howth for the day - you won't regret it *And while you'll overpay for any drink you order, Temple Bar is a staple for great live music and rustic Dublin City craic.
Many people's favorite region of Ireland, the West of Ireland boasts the most stunning coast lines, traditional Irish music, and some of the best pubs in the country. *Cliffs of Moher (Clare) - Walk along the famous coastline of the Atlantic. *Aran Islands (Galway) - Cycle around one of the most stunning islands off Ireland. *Doolin (Clare) - Visit the traditional Irish pubs and enjoy this quaint town filled with fabulous Irish music. *Surf in Lahinch (Clare) or Standhill (Sligo) - Ireland has some of the best surfing, but be advise, the water is always cold!
