Answer

What will the weather be like in Ireland for August? Could be sun, could be wind, could be snow, could be a tornado (like the one in Leitrim Village).... Trusting the weather in Ireland is like trusting an Irish man to give you directions, just don't do it. It is suggested to check the weather an hour before your flight, then pack accordingly. Pack for all seasons in one day. Bring an umbrella (and sunblock).

Question

Answer

Should we rent a car? Public transport in Ireland is like fairy dust - it doesn't exist, it's a figment of your imagination and it will not show up (this is guaranteed). Renting a car in Ireland is recommended. There will be ample parking at the church, Ballymagarvey, and any additional accommodations. Be sure to have insurance on yourself through your rental company (most credit cards will cover the cost of your insurance, so be sure to look into this). If you are not renting a car, please reach out to John or Molly for help! *Please take care driving in Ireland as they do drive on the leftside and driving can be a bit intimidating here. Although, Molly passed her driving test on the first try, so contact her for advice over John.

Answer

What is the best way to change my USD into Euro? The Euro to dollar ratio is currently quite good (you'll only lose about 10cents per dollar exchanged). In our experience, Revolut offers the best exchange rate. You can download the app here: https://www.revolut.com/en-US/. Nearly all places in Ireland now accept Apple Pay and you can pay through your Revolut card in your wallet. Tip: Exchange your money between Monday and Friday by 5pm to avoid added weekend fees. If your old school and don't believe in technology, you can exchange your USD into Euro at the airport. It is recommended your carry your money in your sock to ensure your success through security. I heard this from a Leitrim man whose been traveling to and from Ireland for the past 30 years. He also doesn't believe in credit cards. He also has paid for every flight to Ireland because his wife uses the points for The Cheesecake Factory.
