FAQs

Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

We’ve listed two international airports on the Travel page—either one works perfectly! Fasano is located roughly midway between them, so travel times are similar. If you plan to stay in Polignano a Mare or Monopoli, Bari Airport is slightly closer.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES! To travel to and from Italy you will need an up to date passport! Please check expiration dates well in advance as renewing a passport can take several weeks!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

This depends! Shuttles will be provided to and from all wedding events—the Welcome Party, Wedding, and Pool Party—with several designated pickup points to make transportation as easy as possible. Please note, however, that there are no Ubers or easily accessible taxis in the area. If you plan to stay beyond the wedding weekend or want to explore between events, we recommend renting a car for more flexibility. If driving isn’t your thing—no problem! We’ll share information about local car and taxi services that you can hire to get around comfortably and to help you get to and from the airport!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

It really depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for! Fasano – Perfect if you’d like to be close to the venue, enjoy a relaxing stay, and experience a quieter, authentic Italian town. Fasano has a charming local feel and comes alive in the evenings, though many shops and restaurants close for a midday break (approximately 1:00–4:30 PM). Monopoli or Polignano a Mare – Ideal if you’d like to be near the sea, explore the more touristic side of Puglia, and maybe fit in a beach day. Both are lively coastal towns full of restaurants, shops, and activities, and they generally stay open throughout the day. Monopoli tends to be slightly less touristy than Polignano. Alberobello or Ostuni – Great options if you’re drawn to countryside charm, scenic views, and villa-style accommodations with pools. These towns are a bit inland but offer beautiful landscapes and a quintessential Puglian feel. You’ll find more details and recommendations for many nearby towns on our Things to Do page!

Question

What is a Masseria?

Answer

A masseria is a traditional farmhouse estate unique to southern Italy, especially the Puglia region. Once working farms surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, many have been beautifully restored into charming boutique hotels that combine rustic elegance with modern comfort. Staying at a masseria offers an authentic Puglian experience — peaceful countryside views, local hospitality, and timeless Italian charm.

Question

Will you have room blocks at any of the hotel options?

Answer

Since everyone’s travel plans will look a little different, we decided not to reserve room blocks. This way, you’ll have the flexibility to choose what works best for your schedule and budget. We’ve confirmed that the accommodations listed on our travel page currently have availability, but they’re simply recommendations—not requirements. If none of these options feel like the right fit, feel free to explore other hotels, masserias, or rentals in the area!
