John and Lucila have known each other since they were 11 years old! While Lu doesn't remember ALL their interactions from childhood, John certainly does. They were classmates until their graduation from Guilford High School and have the yearbook signatures to prove it. After John's first year of college, he made the decision to transfer to the University of Connecticut, where Lu was already studying. They bonded over their hometown history and their friendship quickly developed into something more. They've continued on after college to build a life in New Haven, surrounded by friends, family and, of course, their Bella girl!
