If you're looking for scenic hiking this is the place to go! There is no street address because it's too big with many different places make for parking and entrances to the trails! This is the most beautiful place you'll find in Ohio! It's an hour and 45 minute drive from the wedding (Just for reference) but it's well worth the drive! You can rent cabins and such nearby.
Ohio has the best roller coasters I've ever rode! I've been to Disney World, and a few 6 Flags, and the coasters seem tame compared to the amusement parks in Ohio. If you like roller coasters I recommend This one, or the one I will list next. Both are great!! Dare to go hands free!! Cedar Point is located on Lake Erie in Sandusky. On nice clear days you can look across the lake from the top of some coasters and see Canada! Cedar Point is a 2.5 hour drive from the wedding, but well worth it!
This is Kings Island! Another amusement park with Coasters just as good as Cedar Points! One thing I prefer though, is they have a large water park connected, one standard ticket gets you in to both! Kinds Island is located in Mason, but is close to Cincinnati. It is also a 2.5 hour drive from wedding, but so worth it for thrill seekers! Dare to be hands free!
If you want something a little less thrilling than an amusement park this is an option. Yes, it's an old prison. But if you have ever watched Shawshank Redemption it was filmed here! The picture in this squished it down, so it does not do it justice but it is an absolutely stunning building!! They do tours where you can go in and see it all and learn the history. It's very interesting! It's an hour and 18 minute drive from the wedding in Mansfield.
If you have younger kids and want something fun, educational, and interactive Cosi is a winner! I took John everywhere listed so far, but he still talks about Cosi! I always wanted to go to an amusement park for my bachelorette party but I have friends that will not have fun riding, so Cosi is an option! It's a science based interactive museum fun for all ages and educational. It's a really cool place! Located in Columbus an Hour and 13 minutes drive from the wedding.
If you like music the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is very cool! The name speaks for itself on what it is! Located in Cleveland, about 2 hours away from the wedding. While you're there you can see the Christmas Story House!
Remember A Christmas Story with Ralphy, who was going to shoot his eye out? His dads major award leg lamp? The house it was filmed at is in Cleveland and you can tour it! When I went with my family we put on Ralphy's bunny pajamas, stood in the stairs and got our picture taken which became our Christmas cards! It's an hour and 47 minute drive from the Wedding.
More hiking at Salt Fork State Park. Located in Lore City, near Cambridge it's only a 34 minute drive from the wedding. It's not as beautiful as Hocking Hills but still very pretty! It has a huge lake that is clean you can swim in!
This is an old mansion you can tour. It was part of the Underground Railroad! Yes they do sell people on ghost stories if you're into that, but if not to go through it and see everything is very interesting! It's located in Trinway between Coshocton and Zanesville, so it's a 16 minute drive from Wedding.
Coshocton has a really nice park for such a small town with miles of walking paths and beautiful scenery, a lake, a huge play place for kids, a campground, and a nice pool with 2 water slides! This park is within walking distance from the wedding or a 1.4 mile drive if you would rather drive.
the wedding venue is on a hill overlooking Roscoe Village. I really didn't appreciate it as much as I should have until after I moved, because I grew up 10 minutes away from it. But it is a charming little street of historic buildings. You can shop in the little shops, or if you want to learn more of the history head on over to the Visitors Center and get a ticket. I've not done it, but they may have all the attractions open for ticket holders. They have a blacksmith, a printing press, i think i remember old houses to walk through just to name a few. It's not huge, but I remember when I got field trips for school, or I'd go during public events when everything was open I had a lot of fun!
A small local pizza place, and in our opinion the best pizza in Coshocton is Pizza Point. You'll have to call them to order, and they do not have a dining room. But they have a walk in entrance and a drive through. Unfortunately they don't deliver but it's easy to pick it up and take it back to your hotel room!
John wanted to make sure this was included! It is a food truck, but the food is great with large portions! He recommends the "Plow Boy".
This is a Chinese Buffet. It is very good, clean, and reasonably priced!
