Our Story

“Whoever persues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor.” -Proverbs 21:21

John and Kyla were introduced to each other in Ohio after both going through some difficult months. Kyla's dad introduced her to John while they were out walking their little girl, Ali dog. That first meeting was uneventful, but monumental for Kyla. She could tell right away why her dad likes this John guy so much! She could tell how sincere he was. Kyla was as she said "living her best life". Even if things were difficult in this time period she had a dog she adored, a home, a job to pay the bills, and a fun second job. She worked with her Alma Mater High School Marching Band and LOVED that!! She had all she needed and wanted. She was not expecting to ever find a relationship, but God had a different plan. Soon after that introduction John moved to Louisiana to be near family and friends for support. Taking vacations, working out, and socializing helped him to process the past challenges. He also found a job he really likes! Kyla came across John on Facebook, she added him, he accepted. Soon after he messaged her a polite thanks for adding me. They talked of how family is doing and found comfort in each other, helped each other out. They then talked of common interests, of adventures, and traveling. This along with beliefs and morals the conversations grew. That grew into a long distance relationship. Through phone calls as well as flights to and from each other helped their relationship to grow. Eventually it was clear one of them would have to move to continue this. They felt Kyla would have better chances in finding a good job closer to the city, than either of them in a small town. Kyla moved to Louisiana. She misses her friends, family, and the band, but they introduced each other to new activities that they have grown to love like stand up paddle boarding, and bicycling, making even the small moments in life fun and memorable! Moving must have worked out because on December 17th 2024, when Kyla's family was visiting John got down on one knee and asked to do forever. Needless to say she said YES!!!! So, here's to forever...
