The closest major airport to Tulum is Cancún International Airport (CUN), which is about 1.5 to 2 hours north of Tulum. There is also the newer Tulum International Airport (TQO), which is approximately 45 minutes from the Hotel Zone. From New York City (NYC): Direct Flights to Cancún (CUN): Direct flights are available from NYC’s airports (JFK, LGA, or EWR) to Cancún. The flight duration is typically 3.5 to 4 hours. Airlines: American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, and United all offer non-stop flights from NYC to Cancún. Direct Flights to Tulum (TQO): For those flying directly into Tulum, there are also non-stop flight options from New York City to Tulum International Airport (TQO) via JetBlue and United Airlines. These flights typically take around 4 hours and are a convenient option for those heading straight to Tulum. From Orlando, Florida: Direct Flights to Cancún (CUN): Direct flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Cancún take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Airlines: Delta, JetBlue, and Southwest Airlines operate direct flights. From Other Locations: Direct Flights to Tulum (TQO): Tulum International Airport (TQO) now offers a growing number of direct flights from major U.S. cities. Airlines like Volaris and AeroMexico provide non-stop flights into Tulum.

Getting from the Airport to Tulum After landing at Cancún International (CUN) or Tulum International (TQO), you have a few transportation options to reach your accommodations. Private Transfers: This is our TOP recommendation. We recommend booking a private shuttle for a direct and comfortable ride to your hotel or Airbnb in Tulum. These can be pre-arranged online or through your hotel. Rental Cars: If you prefer flexibility, you can rent a car at either airport. However, note that parking in Tulum can sometimes be limited so check with your accommodations to see if you have access to parking. Also driving in Tulum is an adventure in itself so if you can avoid renting a car, that would be our recommendation. If you are staying in the Hotel Zone, you will not need a car. Ado Buses: For those on a budget, ADO buses run regularly from Cancún International to Tulum. This is an economical and convenient way to travel, though it may take longer than other options. Tulum Airport Transfers: If you're flying into Tulum International Airport (TQO), taxis and shuttle services are available directly at the airport for a quick transfer to your accommodation.

This zone of Tulum is where everything is happening, all the restaurants, shopping, and activities for the most part are centered around the Hotel Zone. You don't need a car to stay in this area as many things are in walking distance, however some people choose to rent scooters or bikes to get around this area for convenience. February is one of the best months to visit Tulum! The weather is typically warm and sunny, with lower humidity and a pleasant breeze. Here's what you can expect: Temperature: Average daytime temperatures range from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C), making it ideal beach weather. Evening temperatures cool down to a comfortable 65°F to 70°F (18°C to 21°C). Rainfall: February is part of Tulum's dry season, so you can expect very little rain, with occasional brief showers in the late afternoon or evening. What to Pack: Light, breathable clothing is a must! Be sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to stay cool during the day. In the evenings, you might want to bring a light sweater or jacket, as it can get cooler after sunset. Tulum is beautiful in February, with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures, perfect for beachside ceremonies and outdoor celebrations!
