Travel + Hotel Blocks

The Wedding Website of Kaitlyn Pauline McCarthy and John Paul DeChant
We have reserved hotel blocks at three hotels in the Chicago Loop. All of these hotels are less than a five minute walk to our venue, The Rookery. If you are coming into Chicago by plane, we do not recommend renting a car as everything you will need in the loop is at your fingertips :) If you do have a car, we recommend utilizing SpotHero to look for the best parking deals for the weekend.

Flight

O'Hare International Airport

Below you'll find the best ways to reach our designated hotels from O'Hare (all within 0.2 miles of each other in the Downtown Chicago Loop area). You will not need, and we do not recommend having a car during your visit :) By Train - Follow signs at the airport that say "Trains to City" or CTA Blue Line. Once on the train it is a 45-minute commute to the "Monroe" stop where you will exit the train. From the "Monroe" stop it is a short 4-minute walk to your hotel. Cost is $5 per person. By Car - the best ride-share apps in Chicago are Uber, Lyft, and Via. While a regular taxi is an option, the typical cost is nearly double the cost of using ride-share apps. We do not recommend riding by car on Friday between 3-8pm due to Friday rush-hour, please take note of your arrival time when deciding how to get into the city. Average ride-share cost outside of rush-hour is $25 to $35, and average travel time is 30-minutes.

Flight

Midway International Airport

Below you'll find the best ways to reach our designated hotels from Midway (all within 0.2 miles of each other in the Downtown Chicago Loop area). You will not need, and we do not recommend having a car during your visit :) By Train - Follow signs at the airport that say "Trains to City" or CTA Orange Line. While a regular taxi is an option, the typical cost is nearly double the cost of using ride-share apps. We do not recommend riding by car on Friday between 3-8pm due to Friday rush-hour, please take note of your arrival time when deciding how to get into the city.
