John and Jordyn met in June 2012 when they were lab partners in Organic Chemistry. They bonded over carbon structures, their love of the outdoors, and their small town upbringings. When Jordyn accepted an internship in Memphis, John packed up and moved cross country to be there with her. They enjoyed southern winters so much that they decided to stay for a few more and bought a house in September 2017. Jordyn works as a registered dietitian at the Memphis VA Medical Center, and John works at Nuvasive, a medical device company. They share their lives with their three fur babies, Albie (7), Merlin (1), and Gryffin (1).

Jordyn and John took an extended weekend trip to the Smokey Mountains. They stayed in a cabin high up in the mountains with panoramic views and made a grueling hike out to Charley's Bunion, a cliff along the Appalachian Trail. On the last day of the trip, they hiked to the top of a waterfall where John proposed with his mom's beautiful garnet ring. Jordyn, of course, shouted "YES," and the wedding planning began! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Memphis!
