How We Met

Ready to Ride....

Jody was looking for her first motorcycle (a bucket list item), she had recently gotten her license and was ready to ride! She had been looking on-line for a bike and found one at the store where John was working. They first spoke on the phone in June 2014, and Jody came in to see a bike that she saw on-line. This was their first time meeting in person, Jody thought ohhhh he was very cute! But… no time for distractions, she was on a bucket list mission. The bike was a Yamaha Silverado 1100, pretty big for a new rider and by January she was back again looking for something more manageable. John was really happy to see her again and to help her out, this time she got an Orange/Black Suzuki S40 Boulevard. John volunteered to bring it to her house so she wouldn't have to ride on the highways, since she was still a new rider. Jody was so nervous when he arrived to her house that night. He spent longer than normal going over all the details of the bike to make sure she was comfortable. John had taken as long as he could with out being to obvious that he really liked her, and was ready to leave. Unfortunately, since John was working, company policy kept him from asking her out. But as fate would have it, Jody worked up enough courage to ask him to dinner, a ‘thank you’ for taking the time to deliver the new bike. They went to Jody's favorite local Sushi place around the corner… and the rest is history!

The Proposal

Valentine's Day 2.14.20

It was Valentine's Day and John had thought it would be nice to have a couple's dinner, or so he told Jody. John got Jody's sister Michele and her husband Victor and daughter Holly to meet them at their favorite little Sushi place around the corner. He had been planning with them to take pictures for this big day. They arrived together and after a few minutes wait, they were all seated, and drink orders taken. John suddenly looked panicked and said his phone was missing and must have left it in the car. So off he went, only to return a few minutes later with two dozen roses. This is a small place, so several oooh's and ahhh's were heard, Jody was blushing and thought, 'how sweet!', but there was more... John proceeded to take her from her seat and stood in the middle of their special first date restaurant from 5 years ago and told her how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. John then got down on one knee and proposed! Jody was blushing even more and was so excited because she loves John deeply, and of course she said 'YES!'

For all the days along the way
