Things To Do

The Wedding Website of John Pilon and Helen Chen
For those coming in through Denver, we got a ton of recommendations! I will also be adding our favorite things to do within 1 hour or so from Mt. Princeton as well! You know that Helen and I are major travelers, and being the obsessive planning guy that I am, we always have an excessive list. I wont put everything on here, so if you are looking for specific things or more food recommendations, reach out to John!

Meow Wolf Denver's Convergence Station

1338 1st Street, Denver, CO 80204

Easily John's favorite thing to do in Denver. Prepare for a 3hr+ lore-filled psychedelic museum experience that has you crawling through floors, and checking every door for hidden areas. We always make it an effort to experience their many locations throughout the US, but this location is our favorite.

Denver Botanic Gardens

1007 York Street, Denver, CO 80206

Another place we make sure to visit during every Denver trip. A gorgeous garden, and may be the perfect time to see everything blooming!

Royal Gorge Route Railroad

Royal Gorge Route Railroad

401 Water St, Canon city, CO 81212

The most beautiful scenic train we have ever experienced! Do consider getting upgraded tickets, and enjoy a brew while going through the Royal Gorge! It is a long, scenic ride that is so beautiful it is surreal.

Winter Park Resort

Winter Park, CO 80482

Tubing, Skiing, and just tons of fun! Quite outside of Denver and the venue, but thought it should be added anyways!

Breckenridge Trails!

Breckenridge, CO 80424

Breckenridge is a Colorado town at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range. It's known for its ski resort, year-round alpine activities and Gold Rush history. The Victorian core of this former mining town is preserved as the Breckenridge National Historic District, running primarily along Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and '90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants. Check out their pizza and nearby trails! We linked our favorite one.

Garden of the Gods

Colorado Springs, CO 80904

If flying into Colorado Springs, we cannot recommend the Garden of the Gods enough. It lives up to its name, and has tons of trails to explore. Be aware that it can get busy!

Emerald Lake, Bear Lake, Dream Lake

Emerald Lake, Bear Lake, Dream Lake

CO 80517

Our favorite trail in all of the Rocky Mountains! We have hiked this during the summer and blizzard seasons. Be on the lookout for native fish in the lakes! If you want to understand what made us fall in love with Colorado, go here.

Denver Central Market

2669 Larimer Street, Denver, CO

Tons of great food here in this market! Also, plenty of walking around, with some frequent vintage/thrift events going on! Great place for brunch, or getting some oysters.

The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse

1770 13th Street, Boulder, CO 80302

Will need reservations! A cultural icon location for tea.

Blue Pan Pizza

3509 East 12th Avenue, Denver, CO 80206

This is our favorite pizza place, and we make it a very serious effort to come here immediately from the airport when arriving in Denver. Do arrive early! Detroit-style pizza.

Star Kitchen

2917 West Mississippi Avenue, Denver, CO 80219

One of our favorite Chinese places in Denver! the Dim-sum is OK, but their normal menu is FANTASTIC.

Colorado Sake Co.

3559 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205

Major hidden gem here! Sake bar that has a comedy club in the back! Perfect date idea.

The Bronze Empire

1591 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO 80222

THIS is what all hotpot places should drive to be. Insanely affordable and the quality of the broth+meat is unbelievable. Also has Shaokao!

Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar

1700 Platte Street, Denver, CO 80202

Upscale thai restaurant that has amazing duck. Perfect if youre feeling fancy and want some solid beer
