Should we rent a car?

Answer

Yes. Chattanooga is not public transit friendly. If you want to explore the area, a car will give you the most convenience.

We love your kids, but, alas, the weekend is adults only.

Wait, is the wedding in Tennessee or Georgia?

Answer

Technically, Georgia, but about 3 minutes from the state line. Fun fact: Some of our wedding guests live on the state line!

Could I spend time in Nashville while I'm there?

Answer

Eh, Nashville is two hours away from Chattanooga, without traffic. If you'd like to schedule in a trip to Nashville, Lynchburg (home of the Jack Daniels distillery), Monteagle, Smokey Mountain National Park, etc, it would be best to add on a few days before or after the wedding weekend.

Wait, could I drive over to Memphis on Saturday? I've always wanted to see Beale Street.

Answer

Memphis is 5+ hours away (and a really boring drive across the very looooong state of Tennessee). Best practice would be to plan for another trip, unless you really like road trips.
