Seasons of Love

How We Met

Our story begins in the Fall of 2015, at a small elementary school in Randolph, Massachusetts. Elizabeth, a recent college graduate, had just accepted her first post graduate job teaching 4th graders. John was beginning his third year teaching science to aspiring young minds. According to Elizabeth herself, she did not pay John much mind at first, despite his ravishing good looks. Luckily, for this story, John’s warm personality and unique sense of humor slowly began to catch Elizabeth’s eye as the seeds of love began to grow. As the seasons changed and the school year progressed, what started off as cordial smiles in the hallways began to blossom into discussing weekend plans and common interests. Others took note as well, as co-workers of Elizabeth and John began pondering the potential match and Elizabeth’s students began scheming matchmaking plans. Some of the aforementioned students even went so far as to call the two, “Jelizabeth”; signifying a union of the names “John + Elizabeth”. For those unaware, the only thing teachers and students love more than summer vacation, is an in school romance. Fast forward to the end of the year staff party; where Elizabeth and John were conveniently encouraged to sit in two empty seats next to each other. After an evening of laughs, games, and adult beverages, the two discovered many of the other guests had left. Upon this realization, John offered to walk Elizabeth to her car and she graciously accepted. During this walk, with the prospects of summer vacation fresh on their minds, John and Elizabeth discussed meeting up again soon. The next time John and Elizabeth saw each other was a few days later, marking their official first date at Tony’s Clam Shop on Wollaston Beach. Things must have gone well for both parties that evening considering the first date led to a second date, the second to a third, and the third to countless dates around the South Shore and Boston during the summer of 2016.         With a fresh school year on the horizon, and the summer sunsets coming to an end, John officially asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend on the evening of August 8th, 2016. Elizabeth accepted, and the two celebrated the following morning at the International House of Pancakes. Neither John nor Elizabeth could have anticipated the stir created as both changed their Facebook statuses from “single” to “in a relationship”. Countless texts and phone calls began to pour in from family members, co-workers, and close friends as they discovered that those seeds of love planted back in the fall had taken root and built the foundation for the love story we will gather to celebrate on October 12th, 2025.
