- As of May 8, all but one guest on our attending guest list has confirmed that they will be fully vaccinated by June 12. We are so so happy to say this is looking like it will be a completely vaccinated event. - We have reduced our guest list from 180 to approximately 95. Even though as of 5/29 the state has eliminated all capacity restrictions, we chose to reduce the size of the event for everyone's comfort and safety. - The ceremony and reception are at an outdoor venue. It is a permanent tent with entirely open air walls and access to the deck and beach. - We are having a plated, individually served dinner. - While there will be a DJ and dance floor, there will also be a lounge area that is elevated, open air, and distanced from the dance floor. - MA announced that as of 5/29 masks are no longer required at private events. Accordingly, masks are optional for our guests.
Since March, Massachusetts has dramatically reduced covid restrictions when it comes to outdoor weddings like ours (UPDATE: All restrictions eliminated as of 5/29.) While we are so excited by this development, we've made the tough decision to reduce our guest list to less than half to ensure a safer event. For those that we can safely accommodate we'll follow all guidelines and adapt as they change, but we completely understand if you're not comfortable attending. Ultimately, it is impossible to mitigate all risk and we've really struggled to balance having a fun celebration that honors our guests while maintaining safety. We absolutely, one hundred percent, completely understand and respect anyone at all who feels uncomfortable attending. Our priority is everyone's health and comfort, and we would never ever want this event to cause anyone stress, worry, or especially illness. We will miss you but feel so relieved to know that our event isn't causing you any worry.
We expected Massachusetts to release guidelines or requirements that guests be tested or vaccinated prior to attending. We will update as we know. IF YOU ARE FLYING TO THE WEDDING, Please PLEASE comply with all testing requirements as outlined by federal, state, and local governments. This may change as we get closer to the wedding (restrictions may lessen if you are vaccinated, for example) so please pay close attention. There are several local pharmacies doing testing near our venue and we'd be happy to help coordinate your appointment.
Nope! To celebrate our original wedding date and try to raise our spirits and mourn the loss of this step in our lives, we had a ceremony just the two of us on the roof of our Brooklyn home. We dressed up, exchanged vows, danced, took photos, and ate a delicious meal on our stoop, all of it just the two of us. But we got to celebrate with neighbors walking by on the street who shouted their congratulations and brought us champagne! After living through Spring 2020 in NYC, getting to celebrate in our community this way meant so much. We had no officiant and are not legally married, but it was an incredible experience that brightened our 2020!
Yep! Cocktails and snacks will be served in the bar while the main room is made reception-ready. This is also a great time to walk out to the beach for photos. Our ceremony will be short and sweet and then its time to party!
Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are in a permanent structure with a tented ceiling. The walls are open air. So rain is not a concern but it is considered "outdoor" and it feels outdoor. Guests are able to step outside at any time and take in the view from the beach! Given the open air windows, please consider a sweater or shawl if it will be under 80 degrees as it gets chilly on the water at night. Or just dance really hard to warm up.
There is a limited amount of lodging space available at the venue and it will go to priority family members and those needing special accomodations first. After that the remaining cottages and condos will be available at a 10% discount and come with access to the club amenities. We highly reccomend considering AirBnB and VRBO, as there will be many beautiful beachfront properties within walking distance of the venue for more affordable prices, especially if you're staying with a group.
Yes.
Nope! Adults only.
This is a formal event. Suits, jumpsuits, and dresses of any length are appropriate.
Please get to the venue by no later than 5:15pm on Saturday. If you are driving from outside the Boston area please allow ample time for traffic.
Because our guests will be scattered around New Seabury, we are not providing transportation TO the wedding outside of the bridal party. If you haven't chosen lodging yet, please consider the New Seabury Sea Quarters, Poppy Cottages, or a local airbnb so you can walk along the beach or the pedestrian-friendly roads to the Poppy. Cabs and Ubers are also available but factor in more time to order it than you would in the city. While there is parking available at the venue (including valet) we encourage you to ride share and party safely! We ARE providing a small shuttle that can bring you home from the wedding if you are staying in the New Seabury area. The shuttle will make several loops of the New Seabury and Popponesset villages and you can let us know where you're staying so we can include you on the loop, or you can let the driver know that night.
