Have you ever discovered an abandoned backpack deep in the Hoover Wilderness full of mysterious items, and used the contents to cook tortellini in cream sauce with pimientos and capers worthy of a 5-star restaurant? That is just another day in the life of Bryce Rankins. John and Bryce met in Boy Scouts. They worked at summer camp together, kayaked the Colorado River, fished alpine lakes, and climbed many tall peaks.
Jack Malloy

Jack is funny, wise beyond his years, and always there for his friends and family. John and Jack met in college, where they bonded over their shared love of fitness, playing sports, and watching old seasons of Survivor. Jack is captain of the SLO Down Ragnar Relay team, where John and the rest of the squad still have hopes and dreams of finishing in under 24-hours this year!
Mike Nilsen
Groomsman
Mike and John met at Cal Poly, where they shared the same major (environmental engineering), rode their motorcycles to Avila Beach, and took trips to Lake Havasu on Mike's parents' boat. Always looking for the next big adventure with friends, Mike (and wife Sheila) organized an unforgettable trip to the Big Island to run a half marathon. That trip reminded John and Caeli how much they love the island, and sparked the idea to get married there!
Russell Holcombe

Russ is a rugged outdoorsman, business owner, and the best trout fisherman you will ever meet. Russ is John's cousin, and they grew up backpacking together from a very young age. They explored the Eastern Sierras with their dads, visiting abandoned mines, hot springs, and mountains while sleeping under the stars. They look forward to sharing many future adventures on the trail, followed by visits to June Lake Brewing.

Hillary and Caeli go way back, both attending Ponderosa High School then really connecting at college in San Luis Obispo working at Bevmo. Let’s just say that plenty of shenanigans ensued when these two were together, which solidified their undeniable best friendship for life. Now all they need is a bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay to share to be in their happy place! No matter what, these two always have a good time. And there’s plenty more good times that Hillary and Caeli have to look forward to including lots of golf, going on runs, cheering on the guys at softball, more Maui trips with Lindsey, and who knows what else…let the good times roll!!
Lindsey Thomas

Lindsey and Caeli’s friendship started off casually (semi-competitively) at their work gym and then turned into something more special than either of them could have imagined as best friends. Their friendship has flourished through Spartan races, pouring beer, paddle boarding, vacationing to Maui with Hillary, pumping all the iron, and sweating in the wee hours of the morning doing Insanity workouts more times than you can count. This dynamic duo knows how to work hard and have a great time while doing it!

Kristen is Caeli’s older sister currently living in England and is the mother of Caeli’s two beautiful niecelings, Aria and Laurel. Though an ocean apart, they still find a way to laugh at just about anything together and connect through their love of animals and their family alike. They’ve shared countless memories and experiences throughout their lives, and Caeli is so happy and excited to have her big sister there for the most special time in her and John’s journey together.
Brittany Glover

Brittany is Caeli's big little sis, being that she is younger but taller than Caeli since pretty much anyone can remember. Regardless of age or height, it’s undeniable that these two have a great time together no matter what they’re doing. Whether it’s going on a run, hoping into a spin class (and whooping along to the instructor), hanging out with their animals or singing at the top of their lungs to Brittany’s music in the car - wherever they are together, good times are sure to be had! It’s so exciting to have Brittany as such an important part of Caeli and John’s journey, just as she was for Brittany and Luke last year.
