The closest airport (other than Sisters with its one landing strip) is Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM). Many airlines fly into RDM including Delta, Alaska, United, American, and Allegiant.
Portland Airport (PDX) is 3 hours away.
A rental car is a good idea if you plan to stay and explore more of the area. The weekend activities are planned to be central enough to not need a car during the weekend... unless you head out to golf or other further out activities.
