How do two adventurous seniors find true love in this modern world? Match.com. We first met July 26, 2015 for drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We had many life experiences and several professional careers to share while exploring each other’s quirks and idiosyncrasies. Most importantly both of our roots were in farming and ranching: Phyllis in Kingsburg CA with fruit and chickens, John in Savery, WY with sheep, cows and horses. As our life together began we both finally retired from our respective careers and took on cycling together on a tandem bicycle. Tandem cycling is a unique way to bond and exercise. We truly feel we are “Better Together” as the tandem symbolizes. Likewise, we purchased a second hand coach to do some traveling. Our first trip was to the ranching community of Savery, Wyoming to meet John’s extended family and visit the beautiful National Parks of Utah. We then took on a “Nationwide Tour” to meet many members of the Jones Family. Cycling and coaching around the country have drawn us together in a special way. John also got to know and love Phyllis’s kitties, Molly and Sophie, who joined us on these journeys. The sign in the Coach, “Phyllis and Her Furry Friends,” makes it clear who runs the show. It should be noted that John is also quite furry. Having our friends and family join us in “Big Sky Country” for our Wedding Celebration , symbolizes that our marriage will be followed by new and vast adventures.
