It all started at Dixie’s Dance Hall—surrounded by friends, music, and a crowded dance floor. Jacque spotted John across the room and, without hesitation, made her move. She walked right up next to him and (very intentionally) started talking loudly about football—just to get his attention. It worked. The two of them fell into easy conversation, the kind that makes everything else around you fade out. That is, until a song Jacque loved came on. Without warning, she ran off to the dance floor, leaving John right where he was. Most people might’ve let that moment pass—but not John. As he was getting ready to leave, he made one last decision. He walked straight into the middle of a packed dance floor, found Jacque, and asked for her number before heading out. That night they stayed up until 2 am talking. And that was just the beginning. It didn’t take long for them to realize this wasn’t just a chance meeting. The more they talked, the more they uncovered all the little (and not-so-little) ways their lives had already been aligned. Their families are from the same area, their birthdays are just two days apart (August 12 and August 14), and somehow—of all things—both of their doodles share the exact same name: Lily. From that night on, everything just clicked. Together, they love spending time at home cooking, trying new recipes, and hosting family and friends. They’re always planning their next adventure—whether it’s traveling somewhere new, exploring outdoors, or just finding a fun weekend escape. They share a love for good food, good wine, and making everyday moments feel a little more special.
