We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend who insisted that we were "perfect for each other". It only took about 30 seconds into our first date to see that she was right! After dinner, we went next door for dessert, and after cracking a few jokes with the cashier, he asked us how long we had been together. "About an hour!" He couldn't believe it and proclaimed then and there that we were soulmates and would "totally get married". Turns out he was right as well!

We got engaged next to the fireplace in the Pine Room of Skytop Lodge on New Years Day, 2020! James proposed with his Grandmother's engagement ring and got it custom designed using the money he earned playing The Beatles at Strawberry Fields in Central Park. Skytop has always been a special place for Katie's family, and now it is special for James as well. (Especially since we moved here full time in April 2020 after Covid kicked us out of the city!)
