Nearby airports

Stuttgart is the airport closest to Tübingen. Traveling from there to Tübingen takes about 30 minutes by car and 1 hour by bus or train. Frankfurt and Munich have more international connections but are further away (between 2 and 3 hours by car and train). The German trains are currently very unreliable (long delays and frequent cancellations - see below) and we recommend flying into Stuttgart, if possible. From there, the "Airport Sprinter Bus" provides a direct connection to Tübingen main station. - Stuttgart ist der nächstgelegene Flughafen. Von dort ist Tübingen in ca. 1 Stunde mit dem Zug oder Bus und ca. 30 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Die Flughäfen Frankfurt und München haben mehr (internationale) Verbindungen. Allerdings dauert die Anreise von dort nach Tübingen zwischen 2 und 3 Stunden mit dem Auto oder Zug. Da die Deutsche Bahn momentan sehr unzuverlässig ist, empfehlen wir nach Stuttgart zu fliegen, insoweit möglich. Von dort aus kann man mit dem "Airport Sprinter Bus" direkt zum Tübinger Hauptbahnhof fahren.

Train

Deutsche Bahn (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Tübingen)

If you consider flying into Frankfurt or Munich and taking the train to Tübingen, and back, please keep in mind that delays are common in both frequency and length. Moreover, a train transfer at Stuttgart main station will be needed and the train station is currently undergoing construction, requiring a walk of about 15 minutes. Barring any delays, the train journey from Frankfurt or Munich to Tübingen takes about two and a half hours. We recommend to allow extra time for delayed trains and missed connections. - Bei einer Anreise über die Flughäfen in Frankfurt oder München sollte berücksichtigt werden, dass die Züge zur Weiterfahrt nach Tübingen momentan regelmäßig verspätet sind oder ganz ausfallen. Außerdem ist ein Umstieg am Stuttgarter Hauptbahnhof zwingend notwendig. Dieser wird gerade umgebaut und der Fußweg dauert ca. 15 Minuten. Wir empfehlen daher genügend Zeit für die Reise mit dem Zug einzuplanen.
