Johanna and Collin met organizing for Pope Francis' trip to Congress with his climate encyclical, Laudato si'. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong organizing the rally did- ultimately the rally had more port-a-potties than people....and somehow amidst that, Johanna fell for this man Collin scraping guacamole directly from the carpet of her office. Two months later, they had spent almost every day together, but Johanna was headed to grad school in the Netherlands. That December, they both attended the Paris Climate Talks and amidst meetings, direct actions, and planning, walked around the city late into the night with a bottle of wine. On the last day of negotiations as they flew out, they didn't know if they'd ever see each other again. Johanna handed Collin a small lock to attach to the Paris Pont des Arts after she left. But after arriving back in the states, Collin took multiple $10 buses late into the night to ultimately meet her in Vermont before she moved to the Netherlands. Already deeply in love, they foolishly decided to stay together even with an Atlantic Ocean between them. Now, they've been together for over six years. Each day has been filled with laughter, fighting for a better world, biking adventures, and just a few arrests.... They've decided they want to keep that trend up, and want to celebrate their love with their community. So get ready for an event filled with love and fun!
