Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We invite guests to dress in colorful, garden-inspired cocktail attire. For women, knee-length to ankle-length dresses are perfect — florals and bright, spring-inspired colors are encouraged. For men, a suit is appropriate, with a tie optional. As the celebration will be outdoors, we recommend footwear suitable for walking on grass and a light jacket or wrap for the evening.

Can I bring a plus-one? Or my pet?

Answer

Your invitation will be addressed to you and your guest(s) if a plus-one is included. Our venue is a working equestrian farm with horses on-site, so for everyone’s safety (including the animals’), no pets are allowed.

How do I get to and from the venue?

Answer

If you prefer to drive, there is plenty of parking available at Mount Fair Vineyard. Guests are welcome to park onsite and leave their cars overnight. For those who prefer to not drive, we will be providing transportation between select downtown Charlottesville hotels and the venue. More details will be sent ahead of the big day. Please fill out our transportation survey located on the Travel page as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Just a heads-up: Ubers and other rideshares may be limited in the area, especially in the evening, so we recommend coordinating with other guests if you’re not taking the shuttle.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors at Mount Fair Vineyard, surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Please plan for sun, walking on grass, and possibly cool evening temps.

Is the venue accessible for guests with mobility needs?

Answer

While the venue is outdoors with brickwork and grass, we've kept accessibility in mind. Accommodations are available, so please let us know if you have any concerns or specific needs – we’re happy to help.

Will Maddie be changing her name?

Answer

Maddie is thrilled to (officially and legally!) be a part of the Cathey family, but she will be keeping her last name.
