Ouray Via Ferrata

Ouray Via Ferrata

Ouray

What is a Via Ferrata? A via ferrata (Italian for “iron path”) is a protected climbing route that lets adventurers safely explore steep mountain terrain without needing advanced rock-climbing skills. The route is equipped with fixed steel cables, rungs, ladders, and bridges anchored into the rock. Climbers wear a harness with special lanyards that clip onto the cable, keeping them securely attached as they move along the route. It’s an exciting way to experience the mountains up close — combining hiking, climbing, and incredible views — all while staying safely connected to the mountainside.
