01/15/2024 Our Journey to forever

Our Story 🤍 Some love stories begin with fireworks. Ours began with prayers, patience, and perfect timing. After years of trusting God with our hearts, He brought us together in a way that felt natural, steady, and unmistakably meant to be. How It All Started January 15, 2024 – New Bern, NC What was meant to be a simple first date turned into an all-day adventure—from 10:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Conversation flowed easily, laughter came naturally, and by the end of the day, we both knew something special had begun. Little did Trisha know, Joe quietly started planning forever not long after that first date. For nearly the entire second year of our relationship, he was thoughtfully preparing a proposal filled with meaning, intention, and love. The Proposal September 25, 2025 – Charlotte, NC | 5:41 p.m. We traveled to Charlotte for a Russell Dickerson concert, centered around a song that had become our song: “Home Sweet.” Early in our relationship, Trisha once asked Joe what song best described what he wanted in life and love. That was his answer—and from that moment on, it became part of our story. During a meet-and-greet, Joe asked Russell if he would mind if he did “one more thing.” Russell jokingly replied, “Are you going to propose?” Joe smiled, got down on one knee, and said yes—he was. Tears were shed, excitement followed, and the moment became unforgettable. Later that night, when Home Sweet played during the concert, Russell even gave a shout-out to the couple who had just gotten engaged. It was a memory we’ll carry forever. The Details That Made It Perfect Every detail of that night was thoughtfully planned—including the ring Joe designed himself. Trisha was completely surprised (and now very aware of his hidden talent). Joe also planned Trisha’s entire outfit, from the dress and cowgirl boots to the hat, jewelry, and mini purse. Everything was tied together with light sky blue and sunflowers—her favorite color and flower—creating a moment neither of us will ever forget. What Makes Our Love Ours Our relationship has always been built on intention, respect, and faith. Old-fashioned values still matter to us—courting, consistency, and showing up every day. Joe opens doors, insists on driving, and makes sure Trisha always feels protected. He starts and ends each day with a phone call, making her his first thought and his last. Together, we’ve learned that love isn’t loud or flashy. It’s found in the quiet moments—holding hands without thinking, sitting close in a crowded room, remembering the small things, and making each other feel safe in a busy world. Faith & Forever Our faith is the foundation of our relationship. Growing together in our walk with God has strengthened us individually and as a couple. We believe God brought us together in His perfect timing, and we trust Him with our future. This journey is only beginning. We are grateful for the love, lessons, and blessings that brought us here—and we can’t wait to see what God has planned next in creating our "Home Sweet"
