Sloane's version: I was working at a nonprofit when a new teammate joined our team remotely and quickly became a friend. When she came to visit in person, we spent the week laughing, swapping bad dating stories, and joking that I should marry one of her brothers. Half-joking, she said, “I actually think you and my brother would really hit it off,” and showed me a picture of Joe. I remember thinking, oh no… this is my dream guy. The only problem was he lived across the country in New Hampshire. But Joe reached out anyway, and before I knew it, we were spending hours on FaceTime and talking nonstop. When he flew to California for our first date, it felt like something out of a movie. We were sitting at the beach, sharing our hopes and dreams, and realized we wanted the same things out of life. I knew then that I wanted to marry him and here we are. Joe's version: I met my fiancée Sloane in the most unexpected way, through my sister. She had just started work at a new company and reached out to me one day saying, “There’s this short, cute, super down-to-earth coworker you’d really like, and she’s blonde!” I looked up her Instagram and immediately thought, no way this girl is way too beautiful for me, but I reached out anyway hoping.. Next thing I knew, I was on a plane to California. It only took one conversation by the beach and I knew I’d found the one, I just had to look for her on the other side of the country. A few short months later, I had the ring, and now here we are getting married, I'm still amazed and grateful to God at how quickly and perfectly everything fell into place!
