Matron of Honor
Justine has known Rick since university and has good stories she may be persuaded to reveal if the price is right. Having moved home to Toronto, she now works in early childhood. In November 2020, so as not to be overshadowed by Joe and Rick, she married some guy, aka Waz. They both love to cook, laugh and have fun.

Lori Ruth and Joseph "Eugene" met in 2008 for Joe’s first visit to Norman, Oklahoma with his new Denver friends, and Lori’s college friends, Kristin and Aaron Loggins. Joe and Lori quickly became friends and very briefly lived together in Denver before Joe moved to Chicago where Lori would visit him for weeks at a time…mostly because Lori would miss her flights on purpose. In 2014, Lori successfully enticed Joe back to Denver where they’ve enjoyed mountain trips, game nights filled with unstoppable laughter, and so many other incredible memories. Lori could not be happier to see Joe marry someone as perfect for him as Rick and can’t wait to stand by them in Iceland!

I first met Rick in November 2019 at a wedding in Gloucester, MA. My wife Sharon and I were considering a move to Denver at the time and as serendipity would have it we overheard Rick and Joe say they were from Denver. We immediately struck up a conversation, spent the rest of the wedding partying, dancing and having a blast. We met for breakfast the next morning and the rest is history. Getting to know Rick over the past year and a half has been amazing as we have learned we have a very similar taste in beer and I love it when we are hanging out and Rick takes over DJ responsibility – his taste in music is top notch. I am truly honored that Rick asked me to be a part of his special day!

Marcy has known Joey ever since middle school where they bonded as the most fun and mischievous friends at Old Fort Baptist Church. They credit each other for getting through those years! They spent that time devouring Dawson's Creek, frequenting the dollar movie theater, and making up their own dances to 90's songs (you may get to witness a fav at the wedding!). Marcy and Rick bonded over a mutual love of Joe, craft beer and great taste in music. Rick's music and meme posts have been a spirit lifter for all, and Marcy is convinced Rick has the best Instagram account! She's thrilled to be able to witness their love and can't wait to party with you all in Iceland.

I first met Rick shortly after he moved to Denver. We met through mutual friends, and spent countless hours having all day mimosa 'brunches', watching RuPaul's queens slay on drag race, gay bar hopping on Colfax, and laughing our asses off. One of my ultimate favorite memories is a trip that Rick, Joe, and I took to gay Disney in California. It was a 3 day weekend filled with joy, relaxation, friendship, and again, so many laughs. Rick and Joe have become some of my best friends, they are unendingly supportive and I just love them! I am so happy they found companionship and love with each other, and I'm incredibly excited for the honor of being in their wedding party!

I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting Joey in January of 2016 through my now wife Lori. Since that time I have had someone that I can count on to be a true friend and provide constant laughs. Then BAM, it was like finding money in your favorite jeans you’re throwing in to wash with Rick coming into Joe’s life. Since that day there has been a glow between both of them that nobody can deny and a happiness that has entered into all of our lives. I can’t wait to spend more nights coming up with horrible answers to all the questions the Fire Stick wants to throw at us, walks in an Aspen forest, and being champion horse racers. Congratulations to you both!

I met Joe in 2008 when we were all new to Denver. Over countless nights of dancing, karaoke, and beer pong at favorite haunts, we bonded over similar upbringings. I was sad when Joe moved to Chicago, but we kept in touch - we must have realized how important we would be to each other when he moved back to Denver. We picked right back up and have experienced a lot, including some of the best and worst times of our lives. When Rick entered the picture, I knew he was special to Joe. I expect my friends' SO’s to have a genuine friendship with me. Luckily, Rick readily accepts those terms and conditions! He is loyal, quirky, and kind. He loves Joe with all he is, and I am so grateful for both of their friendship. It’s an honor to make more memories in Iceland and perform their wedding ceremony.
