Hotels and Getting Around

We've picked some hotels near Midtown, NYC-an easy jaunt to the the NYC Ferry which gets you to the wedding AND near Times Square, Central Park, and Herald Square. A hop, skip and a jump away from all NYC neighborhoods. Also, if you're not feeling the hotel thing, check out AIR BNB: https://www.airbnb.com/ for your very own NYC apartment.

Hotel

Hampton Inn

59 W. 35th Street
10001
New York, NY 32162
 212-564-3688

The Hampton Inn serves complimentary breakfast, and has a coffee bar in the lobby. There is no bar/restaurant, but there is an interior gathering space, and a front patio where you can hang with your own refreshments. Right next door to a karaoke bar!

Hotel

The Gregory Hotel New York

42 West 35th Street
New York, NY 10001
 (212) 947-0200

The Gregory is a stylish boutique hotel with cozy accommodations and a cool, classic NYC vibe. They also have a great bar and grill "Brendan's." From the website, "Our historic hotel is complemented by contemporary features reminiscent of the runway, adding clean lines and bold patterns to stately architectural elements."

Hotel

The Moxy

485 7th Avenue
New York, NY 10018
 212-967-6699

The Moxy is absolute fun. The rooms are small. We repeat, the rooms are small. The hotel is an adult playground with five bars including New York's biggest rooftop bar.

Travel Note

Ferry to Greenpoint

The best way to get to The Greepoint Loft on Friday is to take the NYC Ferry from the ferry station located at 34th street and the East River. The ride is about 10 minutes long to the GREENPOINT stop. The Greenpoint Loft is a short walk from the Greenpoint landing. From the Greepoint Ferry Station, walk down the pier (away from the water). Continue down India Street one block to West Street. Turn RIGHT on West Street and walk 4 blocks to 67 West Street, The Greenpoint Loft. We recommend buying your ticket ahead of time using the NYC Ferry smartphone app. Otherwise, tickets can be bought online or at the ferry station for $2.75. When the summer travel schedule is posted, we will link to it here. Please note that the ferry is extremely PROMPT and usually leaves the station right on schedule.

Ride Apps

NYC has a million great ways to get around. We love the subway and recommend it, but here are some other options: UBER and UBER POOL When you open your UBER app in NYC you'll notice an option for UBER POOL. This is a lower-cost UBER ride where you may be sharing your UBER with other riders for a reduced fee. VIA VIA is another ride sharing app for smartphones. You get a $10 ride credit for signing up with VIA, plus - if you share VIA with another new user, you BOTH get a $10 ride credit. This goes a long way with groups.
