It all started with the swipe of a finger. Joanne liked Joe’s witty responses and cool demeanor, and Joe liked the video of a dog he thought was Joanne's (turns out it wasn’t hers). They met for a night of drinks and pizza, a recipe for success in any relationship. Joe liked Joanne’s warmth and smile, Joanne liked Joe’s style and embarrassment over using way too many napkins. Maybe it was the wine and conversation, or maybe it was Joe holding Joanne’s hand while crossing the street.. but it was definitely the start of something amazing.

Just a few weeks into COVID-19 lockdowns, the couple decided to dress up to celebrate Easter Sunday. Joe took advantage of this welcome change from shorts and sweats to plan the proposal. He sent Joanne a stream of photos and messages reflecting on their relationship, and waited for Joanne's reaction. Joanne (completely clueless) thought to herself “Aww, Joe must really love me!” She joined him in the next room, where he was waiting with a garden of flowers. Even this didn't raise suspicion of an upcoming proposal until Joe took out the ring and got on one knee.
