Our absolute favorite donut shop in all the land. If you don't like it we'll fight you and we will win because we're going to be married by that point and, much like the Power Rangers, we'll be stronger together than we ever were apart.
We love this park! It's where we walk Maisie and Hallie all the time. Very kid friendly. Honestly too kid friendly if you ask me. There are thousands of children there. Maybe even millions. Who's to say? I can't count that high. Jocelyn let me write these descriptions and I don't think she knew what she was asking for.
This is literally where we're getting hitched so you are only allowed to visit it on Sunday. If you show up to our elopement we will run from you into the apiary on the grounds. Can't crash our wedding if you're under attack by BEES.
Another favorite spot of ours - we got lost here together one day many moons ago when we were still just friends. We thought it was the end for us, for real. But then we realized we'd made one wrong turn and we figured it out. Anyway, we take Hallie here a lot for a slightly strenuous walk. Maisie can't do it because she's older and has little stubby legs, but Hal LOVES it. There are lots of trees (definitely leafless come October) and a bridge over untroubled water. I mean I don't know the water personally but it seems pretty untroubled.
A classic date night spot for us! Slash, a classic Tuesday after you've just had one of those days. You know the kinds of days I mean. The days where you just can't balance being a spider-themed superhero with your day job as a photographer for the local paper. The days where you drop your suit in the trash and walk away dramatically into the rain... to Goodberry's! It's the best frozen custard, or "Fro-Cus" as the youths call it. We're really hip, can you tell?
Hands down the best shopping experience in the Triangle, Fenton is an outdoor mall-type area, but a little fancier. They have a Warby Parker (good for glasses), a Madewell (good for pants), Honeysuckle Gelato (good for gelato, obviously), and a Sephora (good for feeling really out of place and judged by tweens who are definitely in there shoplifting). There's a movie theater if you'd rather do that instead of hanging out with us and some tasty restaurants. One of our favorite spots is Dram & Draught, it's a snazzy bar with snazzy drinks and a logo that's EXACTLY the same as the Daredevil logo. And anyone who knows Jocelyn knows she's a HUGE fan of the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie.
The best Halloween house in all of Raleigh. Honestly the whole neighborhood is decked out for spooky season- it's worth a stroll!
Easily the most sincere pumpkin patch around. If you're going to hang out and wait for the Great Pumpkin, there's no better place. Mostly because they don't have cameras on the property so they won't call the cops on you for "trespassing" if you fall asleep out there with your trusty blanket.
Do you love soccer? Of course you do, it's America's pastime! Oh baseball is America's pastime? Okay well a Courage game is an excellent option for passing the time (nailed it). It's all the best parts about sportsgames: hotdogs, a team with literal Olympic athletes on it, and more hotdogs. Seats are pretty cheap, and I have absolutely no idea if they're going to be playing that weekend. What am I, a witch?!
My favorite thing to do with my parents (this is Brent, by the way, if you haven't figured it out already) is play Putt-Putt. Mini Golf. Crazy Golf. The Greatest Game, Miniature Stylez. Whatever you call it, it's a sure-fire way to have a fantastic afternoon even if we all take it slightly too seriously and end up a little too competitive around the 15th hole when we're all doing the math in our heads trying to figure out who's winning (spoiler alert, it's usually my mom).
