The year? 2010. The fashion? Low rise and bootcut. The location? Elon University. In a lovely bit of foreshadowing for the rest of her life, Brent interrupted Jocelyn while she was doing something important to distract her with hyper specific conversation about The Beatles. How could he not? She was a cute girl sitting on the floor of her dorm room's common area studying and listening to The Beatles!

Our story from there isn't the most traditional, but it fits the "Friends to Lovers" trope fairly well. You see, for the next decade or so, Jocelyn and Brent were friends. Honestly, truly, just friends. For various reasons, that was the only way they saw each other (why is this like a weird third person thing now?). As the years passed, they grew as people, as friends, and, for a regrettable time, they grew apart. In hindsight, they both needed time to find themselves. Finally, FINALLY, Brent realized how dumb he'd been - letting the woman of his dreams get away. And so, the Heartbreak Prince made his way back to Miss Americana, and worked tirelessly to prove himself to her once again. Fortunately, she gave him a second chance.

The past two years have been happier than either of us could've imagined. We've been able to support each other, make each other laugh, and, quite simply, be madly in love. We wouldn't trade it for anything. Plus, we have the best dogs in the world, Hallie and Maisie. And by "best dogs," we mean little weirdos who might not always listen to us, but they do make every day shine a little brighter.

We're so thrilled to celebrate our marriage with all of you! Every day 'til now has brought so much light and love. We can't wait for all the days to come.
