About eight years ago, our paths crossed in the most unexpected way. It was a typical day, but little did we know it would turn into the beginning of something truly special. Emily decided to have a "girls night out" at a local hookah lounge (it was the thing to do back then) and Job decided to do the same with his guy friends. We were both newly in college. Our group of friends were familiar with each other and decided to share a table together. However, we both had never met or even heard of each other. Job had his eyes on Emily from the moment he laid eyes on her. By the end of the night, Job was sitting (and flirting) with Emily and finally had her put her phone number into his phone. By the next week, we were on our first date in Balboa, California at a restaurant called BJs. Job was a gentleman from the start. He picked up Emily at her Mom's house wearing a button down shirt, glasses (which he has not worn since this first date), and a freshly washed two door beater. He came in the house and introduced himself to her Mom and Grandy, both of whom loved him from the start. Emily was nervous as ever and this was truly the first formal date she had ever been on. By no surprise, Job immediately made Emily feel comfortable as he turned up his stereo, played P.Y.T. by Michael Jackson, and sung (screamed) his lungs out. The night ended with us watching Step Brothers on his stereo in his truck at the top of the world. Did we just become best friends? Well, we became more than best friends. Pretty much immediately. The connection we shared was evident from the beginning. We discovered just how much we had in common. We blinked, and now we are 8 years in. What started as young kids flirting at a run down hookah lounge, turned into 8 years of wonderful memories. We truly learned how to grow independently by each other's sides, nourishing each other's development along the way. Although we are very different people from when we met, we are more in love than ever. We have shared countless successes, hardships, and lots and lots of changes together. Our wedding has been a long time coming and we are so ecstatic to spend the day with you. We thank you in advance for standing by our side all of these years and supporting our relationship.
