Geoff and I met during our time at Baylor University at a collegiate favorite bar, Scruffy Murphy's. I will never forget the moment I heard his voice, turned around and saw this guy with a charming smile, dressed in a camouflage hat, pink polo shirt, wrangler jeans, and roper boots. I figured this southern boy was worth giving a smile. After that smile and that night, Geoff has been pursuing me relentlessly for the past 8 1/2 years. Finally, I decided I would let him marry me, he's earned it =)

The Fourth is our favorite holiday and time of year! We always plan trips for the Fourth, usually to see friends & family, but this year was different, it was just going to be us two! So we headed off to Charleston, S.C., to enjoy the history, scenery and of course the FOOD! After 7 days, a few mishaps (lost pair of brand new sun glasses, a phone left in an uber, and a purse left at a bar) awesome adventures, and lots of great food; our last day of the trip was Geoff's birthday. The AMAZING hotel we were staying at, The Restoration, (seriously, book a room here, its awesome!) has these really nifty, handcrafted bikes and I was SO excited to take them out! So we went out on a Charleston adventure, down sides streets, brick roads and cobblestones; stopping at all the historical homes to read their plaques. Finally, we got to Church Street. It was on a bend and beautiful. Filled with big southern trees, beautiful, historic homes, and brick streets I made Geoff stop for a kodak moment. Suddenly, I hear "it's been a long time coming..." look down & see a box in his hand... then I black out a little...straight up panic & throw the beautifully handcrafted bike down on the ground. Realizing I just threw a very nice bike on the ground, I go into a deeper panic, & try to pick it up. By this point, I am crying one of those really ugly, snotty sobs, repeating "is this actually happening..." After of a solid minute of failing to pick up the bike, I finally get it, Geoff laughs & gets down on one knee... I respond, "A million times over yes!!!" It was the best day of my life so far!! Best birthday present for Geoff!
