You can fish the pier at Folly for $8 per adult, or $4 per kid under 12. But you can also fish at our folly rental on the Island! Just call Jake (he's always in the mood to fish)! And May just happens to be the best month for fishing here (: P.s. Crosby's is our favorite local spot for all your fishing needs (gear/bait/tackle)
Folly beach has some of the best waves in South Carolina! If you wanna surf, please join us and our friends the week of the wedding (and the morning of)! We don't care if you've never tried it before, just come play in the water. If you love surfing, and are from better wave areas than us, the washout is your best bet on Folly Beach (streets 13 east through 16 east.) But we recommend bringing your long boards, because we can't guarantee any thing more than small waves out here (: PRAY FOR SURF
We LOVE kayaking, and we also LOVE COA (Charleston Outdoor Adventures)! If you want to book a sweet nature and kayak tour, we recommend booking with our friends at COA. But make sure you call in advance, May is the beginning of busy season. They are located on a small island before Folly Beach, Bowen's Island. If you want to just play around the creeks and take some kayaks or paddle boards out, we have too many to count, so please come by our rental and take one for a spin!
Low Life has great drinks, food, and atmosphere. Check out their brunch too! This open air restaurant is a go to for us, and we love to bring our family when they are in town. Dress casual, it's Folly ya'll!
Chico Feo is classic local's spot on Folly. It looks like a run-down beach bar, but it's food is far from that. We recommend lunch and a beer here after surfing or a morning on the beach. No shoes or shirt required. Just a heads up, it's next to the only grocery stop on the island, so we recommend walking here, it's too busy to park. Also, this is a causal/local bar and can get loud and "rowdy" at night with live music. Fun for some, but not if you want to enjoy dinner with your wife and kids.
Some of our surfer buddies opened a coffee shop on Folly Beach! Go check it out and grab a morning brew and maybe some Musubi (Joanna's favorite breakfast)! These guys are the best, and you might see them in the waves later!
Taco Boy is the biggest restaurant on Folly Beach, and is great for a crowd! The margarita's here are incredible and come in lots of fruity flavors. And they have a la carte style tacos, so you don't have to pick just one kind! We recommend lunch or dinner here, casual or cute attire. Shoes and shirt required.
Bert's Market is the only grocery spot on the island. It can be pricier, but you will always find your essentials if you aren't in the mood to drive to Harris Teeter. They have everything from cleaning products to salsa. We highly recommend Bert's for a to-go lunch! They have cheap burgers, chicken sandwiches, and corndogs made daily. With fresh free coffee (donations welcome). There is also a small made-to-order sandwich shop inside, that has plenty of healthy options. This place is full of the best attitudes you can imagine! Everyone loves Bert's, including their employees. It's a bustling place, but the lines move quickly, and you can shop in your sandy swimwear without judgement. GAMECHANGER: they are open 24hrs a day " They may doze, but they never close"
