A holiday cookie party led to Dungeons and Dragons with a group of mutual friends. Our similar interests meant we often found excuses to spend time together doing archery or watching nerdy TV shows with each other. It wasn't until a trip to Florida to meet more of Luke's family that we finally realized we should be dating not just friends. Apparently everyone already knew but us. :)
It's an annual tradition to find time to visit my aunt and uncle's lake house in Onekama, Michigan. So when we got all packed up to go I was none the wiser about Luke's ulterior motives. Sure I should have guessed when he was adamant about packing a nice outfit or when he asked if Uncle Ray had a nice camera. When he put on white pants for a walk down by the beach I should have known something was up. Luke said we should make sure to look for geodes and petosky stones while walking and I was quick to agree. From behind me I heard him shout, "I think I found a big one!" Of course I just sassed back "Well, bring it over here!" With an exasperated tone he said "Just come over here." And when I made my way back to him he turned around on one knee with the ring in his hand. Tears fell and we were finally engaged, much to my surprise :D
