Question

I'm not Catholic and have never been to a mass... what should I expect?

Answer

Well for starters we are so happy to have you come celebrate with us! Here is what to expect at a Catholic wedding mass: 45-60 minutes long (maybe more, maybe less) ~ Processional ~ Introductory Rites ~ Liturgy of the Word ~ Rite of Marriage ~ Liturgy of the Eucharist ~ Concluding Rites Of course this is a very broad timeline but overall this is what to expect!

Question

Can I just go to the reception?

Answer

As a couple we really want all of our guests to be there to witness our initiation into the sacrament of marriage (that is the point of the entire day after all!). So ultimately, except for extenuating circumstances that have been discussed with the bride and groom, we want all guests to attend both the ceremony and the reception.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

All guests are stated on the invitation so any plus one's that are not written by name are not included in the guest count. Due to limited space at the venue we are not able to accommodate people who are not on the guest list. However, the ceremony at the church is open invite and we would love to have anyone there who wishes to celebrate our marriage!

Question

I am not invited to the reception, can I go to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, yes, yes! The ceremony is at St Stephen Catholic Church which does not have a limited seating so all are invited. We would love to see many smiling faces in the pews as we enter into the sacrament of marriage!

For all the days along the way
