Venue: Devils Dyke Farm
We first visited this venue back in February 2024 and fell in love with it. The views are outstanding but what makes it better is the fantastic service we have received from everyone who works here. The owners Mike and Lyndsay have made this place so magical for us, and we can't thank them enough for all the help they have given us during the planning time. Please buy them a drink on us on the big day, and ask Mike about all the explosives he has! Don't worry, they are all safely stored in a shed.
Food: Jou Jou's Bites
I (Joanna) first met Jou Jou and Mustapha when working with Stylist and booked them for an event. While the event wasn't everything we dreamed it would be, the pair made such a lasting impression on me, not only because their food was an incredible blend of flavours and colour but they were the nicest people ever! They built their business all on their own, it's already winning awards and I guarantee it wont be long before we see the Jou Jou's Bites name everywhere. They are a brilliant pair who have again made our wedding that bit more special.
Flowers and Decorations: Flutterbys
We were very fortunate to meet Miranda and her lovely Mum during on of Devils Dyke Farm's open days where we saw her amazing work and dedication to her craft. We were so excited to have her with us for our special day and make our Pinterest boards a reality that was still unique to us. She seemingly guided us through what decorations we should have and made sure we stuck to our budget! She has made our day all the more beautiful and we are so lucky to have her!
Photography and Videography: Sparrowtale Productions
Finding a style and production value that we liked was a challenge, making sure the raw and real moments were captured was a very vital element of the day for us. Chris, the man behind Sparrowtale Photogrpahy, portfolio was a collection of beautiful moments of couples captured in all different settings but had one consistent theme which was the couple's happy and real emotions. This is exactly what we wanted for our day and after speaking to Chris he guided us through his work and how Sparrowtale came to be. We were so excited to have him document our day. And he's an Arsenal fan so clearly a man of taste.
Dress Alterations/ Cleaning
Having two very special and important dresses to restore, and then alter was no easy task. One dress being 60 and the other being 23 years old was stress enough, not even including the emotional attachment to both. These were very important pieces that could not be ruined. Thankfully, we found this amazing restoration company called "The Dress Cleaning Company", who carefully restored both dresses back to their original condition. The difference was remarkable and the service was impeccable. We were again very lucky to be recommended the amazing seamstress Fatima who has worked in the wedding dress industry for over 25 years. She's worked with royal dresses and has altered and made 100's of dresses from her own studio based in Beckenham. With her help and professional guidance, she made my ideas a reality and made my beautiful dresses my own, whilst paying homage to the original designs. She has been amazing to say the least, and has made sure I feel beautiful on the special day.
Cake and Desserts: Got Buns Hun
I was very very fortunate to be living with my bridesmaid Nicole during my time in uni as she would occasionally bring home these amazing cupcakes, brownies and all sorts of sweet treats from her future sister in law's bakery, Got Buns Huns located in Newhaven. Meg is an independent business owner who has curated a vibrant and buzzing business which is already winning awards, all whilst planning/ having her own wedding and having her first baby, Nate! She is a talent and we are so lucky to have her be part of our day!
Rings: Smooch
We found this rare company at a wedding fair in East Sussex and they immediately caught our eye with their vast collection of rings. After discussing with them further, they expressed that they can personalise, and even design brand new rings if we wanted something entirely unique (which is basically what Bailey did!). After booking an appointment, their kind sales team came to our home and showed us their suitcase of rings, answered any questions we had and made us feel even more excited. They were very professional and we even got 3 free gifts with our purchase. We are very excited to know we have one of a kind rings, and would very much recommend!
