It all began in 2015, during a time when technology and video chat were becoming a regular part of everyday life. We first met through mutual friends at a casual group hangout in Elk Grove, CA. We had come together to support a friend’s performance, and afterwards, we grabbed boba at Moo Moo Café. What started as a simple outing soon turned into something more. As time went on, group Skype calls became a regular thing. Eventually, those calls shifted from group chats to one-on-one conversations. It was during those late-night talks and shared laughter that our admiration for each other began to deepen. Even with the physical distance between us, our bond grew stronger. Every opportunity to see each other in person became more meaningful—something we eagerly looked forward to. Truly, distance made the heart grow fonder.
