**Newest Update**

SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, SEPT 18 2021

Dear Friends and Family, Due to our venue's current capacity limits and slow distribution of COVID vaccinations, we have decided it was best to postpone our wedding one last time. We have waited a year, why not wait a couple more months until we can safely celebrate with all of our guests? We hope your dancing shoes can wait a little longer. It's important to us that everyone stays safe. Our new date is SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th 2021 from 11:00AM - 4:00PM. **Please note that this will be a daytime celebration! Thank you for understanding. We miss you all and can't wait to celebrate together soon! With Love, The Gabrielsons

How We Met

Kevin and JoAn met first week of junior year at the Penn State University when Kevin and his roommates invited some friends over for a housewarming. After a night of playing games and catching up from the summer, JoAn asked the guys if they had snacks or anything to eat. Kevin being the gentleman that he is, decided to make rice for her (lol) However, she forgot about his kind gesture and left the night without having any. The next time they crossed paths, Kevin gave her a hard time about it and the two soon became great friends. Eventually his sweet gestures caught JoAn's heart and she became totally smitten! After a year of being good friends, Kevin asked JoAn to be his girlfriend on Sept 5th, 2013. On their first date, Kevin took JoAn to Cozy Thai, the best Thai restaurant in State College. He surprised her with a special limited edition bottle of her favorite drink at the time, Woodchuck hard cider (it was a BYOB place). From bringing Just Because flowers from the Farmer's market to writing songs for her on his bass guitar, he's never stopped being chivalrous to JoAn since day one!

The Blessing

A month before Kevin proposed to JoAn, the couple went to dinner with her parents at the Peking Gourmet Inn, one of the Lee family's favorite restaurants. During dinner, Kevin pulled out an envelope and gave it to Mr. & Mrs. Lee. Inside was a card written in Korean, asking for their blessing for JoAn’s hand in marriage. It was incredibly thoughtful and sweet that it touched everyone's hearts and made them cry, especially JoAn and her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Lee proudly said "Yes" and welcomed him to the family. Only some people can understand what the card says but it is the caring gesture that speaks volumes. JoAn feels so lucky to be with someone who values her culture and embraces their differences. *Special shout out to Cindy: one of JoAn’s best friends and bridesmaids, for assisting Kevin with the translation/card without JoAn noticing. It was a complete surprise! We love and appreciate you so much!

The Proposal

12/29/2018

The last week of 2018, Kevin asked JoAn to pack for a weekend getaway and surprised her with a trip out of town. The trip turned out to be to State College, PA where their Alma mater was! He took her to all the places that were significant to them: Kevin's old classroom in Hammond building, The Hub and Old Main, where they'd meet up for lunch in between classes, JoAn's old apartment and Kevin's old apartment- where he would walk her home every night, Cozy Thai- their first date, Say Sushi- where JoAn worked part time and all of their favorite bars- Cafe 210, Pickles, Phyrst and the Gaff. The trip down memory lane ended at The Tavern, where Kevin made dinner reservations for them. (The Tavern, located on College Avenue across from Old Main, has been a downtown favorite for 70 years!) He reserved the best seat in the house where they had a clear view of the Old Main lit up in the snow. He also had a dozen red roses waiting for her at their table. After a fancy three course meal, Kevin expressed his love, got down on one knee and popped the question! JoAn said "YES" with pure excitement and joy. The couple ended the night by celebrating their engagement at their favorite bar, the Phyrst. From start to finish it was the most perfect day filled with nostalgia, love and all their favorite college memories.

Sacrament of Matrimony

9/5/2020

On September 5th, 2020, Kevin and JoAn became husband and wife through the Sacrament of Matrimony and had an intimate church ceremony with their families at the St. Clare's Chapel in Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. This day was especially meaningful for JoAn and Kevin because it was on their 7 year anniversary! 2020 has been a challenging year with so many unexpected changes. But even amidst a pandemic, God showed us that love conquers all and how blessed we are with His love. We couldn't be happier to start the next chapter of our lives as a married couple and can't wait to celebrate with our loved ones soon! Love, The Gabrielsons
