FAQs

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

We have made the decision to forgo a registry and kindly ask that you do not purchase or send any gifts for our wedding. Your presence at our wedding is a gift to the both of us!

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony starting to ensure you are seated and ready for the festivities to begin!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

North Carolina weather can be unpredictable, but from talking to some of our vendors, it seems like the weather will be fairly mild and sunny. We would still recommend packing colder weather clothes or coats/jackets to bring with you to the events just in case. Our venue has an indoor and outdoor option, but we have not yet made a decision on where we will be holding the ceremony. It will primarily depend on the weather, and we will make a decision once it gets closer to our wedding weekend!

Question

What events are happening during the weekend?

Answer

All organized events are included in the "Schedule" page, which include the Rehearsal Dinner, Post-rehearsal Dinner Cocktail Party, Ceremony, and Reception. You are free to do anything you'd like outside of these events, and can check out the "Things To Do" page for some ideas. Please just ensure ample time to get from those activities to the scheduled events you have RSVPed to. You do not need to RSVP to every scheduled event, however, if you have RSVPed and are unable to attend, please let us know!

Question

Are there designated smoking areas at the venue?

Answer

The Maola at Riverside (our venue for the ceremony and reception) has a no smoking policy and we kindly ask that you refrain from smoking. This includes cigars, cigarettes, vapes, and any other tobacco or marijuana paraphernalia. Thank you in advance!

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! We plan to have an open bar that serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are some limitations, however. Per our venue's policy, all alcohol service must end at 9:30pm, and do not allow shots, Jager, or alcoholic energy drinks. We understand that 9:30pm may be early for some, and so if you're still in a party mood, there are some bars in New Bern that you can head over to after the reception (just make sure you book an Uber or find another safe way to get there).
