Will I need a Visa for Greece?

Answer

That depends on your Passport you use to travel. U.S., Canadian, U.K., and countries under the Schengen agreement will not need a visa to enter Greece. Please check the Greece Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa requirement chart --- https://www.mfa.gr//en/visas/visas-for-foreigners-traveling-to-greece/countries-requiring-or-not-requiring-visa.html In addition, the Trip Savy website has clear information and great links on "Greece Visa Requirements" page such as where to locate the nearest Greek Consular office. What is the best way to travel to the wedding destination from the airport

Answer

You can travel to methana by car or boat. By car it's about 2.5 hours. It's 2 hours by ferry once you reach the port of Pireas, or via Poros 1 hour by flying dolphin, plus a 30 minutes taxi ride. Please take a look at our "Travel" section of the website for more details.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a block of rooms reserved for guest at Saronis Hotel in the town of Methana where we are also hosting all the events. The hotel is right across the Methana port. Please email us with the following information to forward to the hotel manager for the reservation- 1) check-in date and check-out date; 2) the number of rooms; 3) type of occupancy in the room. You will pay onsite. The rate is 35 euros for a double, 45 for a triple per night with breakfast.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Please inform us if you are driving to the location, so that we can make arrangements with the hotel.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We are planning a day trip to Epidauros on Friday before the wedding and one on Sunday following the wedding touring the peninsula of Methana. Please notify us of your interest to participate by e-mail at john.p.costa@gmail.com and stay tuned for more details.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No. The church for the wedding ceremony is a 10-minute walk from the Saronic Hotel and the reception will be at the Saronic Hotel. Please let us know if you need transportation to the church.

How far is the Wedding destination from the airport

Answer

The town of Methana is 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from Athens International Airport. If you are planning to take public transportation, there is one ferry a day from the Port of Piraeus that takes two hours. There are also three flying dolphins to Poros that take 1 hour, which a is 30 minute ride to the hotel in methana. A more accurate schedule will be available 3-weeks before the wedding. You can also check the schedule and rates here - https://www.ferries.gr/. The boats leave from Pireas port gate E8 which you can reach by car, taxi, bus, or metro from the airport or Athens.
