Looking for a place to walk around and maybe get on a ferry to sight-see the bay? check out jack london square in west oakland.
We love Emeryville. Lots of stores for wandering around and very clean and community oriented.
Have kids? Check out children's fairyland in oakland. Keep in mind, you MUST have kids with you to enter the park. Check their website for restrictions and hours. Tickets are only $10 and you can purchase magic keys for the little ones!
We LOOVVE the presidio. Amazing picnic day, but it can get a bit chilly because it is located adjacent to the bay water. If you're here on Sunday, Off the Grid takes place here all afternoon 11am-4pm. Off the grid is a community "picnic" and you can bring your own coolers, lawn chairs, blankets, games, etc. and indulge in all the food & drinks & snacks the food trucks have to offer for purchase. Check out their website for FAQ and guidelines.
Delicious traditional Mexican restaurant for those looking for some authentic Mexican food in the area.
Our absolute favorite place to go for Indian Food. Cheap and delicious! Entrees for sharing.
Never been to SF? Pier 39 is a must. Lots of sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, and or course, food.
This is our favorite scenic drive in the area. Going towards Halfmoon bay on a sunny day is an amazing drive.
The Boardwalk is always a good getaway for us to enjoy a day on the beach, people-watching and getting on the rides on the Boardwalk. Lots of good food in the area as well. Note it does get pretty chilly, especially around the afternoons into the evening.
