Question

Why is the wedding happening so soon!?

Answer

Kerstin’s family’s church is closing! After 130 years, the church is shuttering its doors. We really wanted to get married where Kerstin’s mom and dad said, “I do!” and the church is making it happen :D No worries if this is too last minute, we are planning a proper reception down the line (TBA). We hope to see you there!

Will there be food?

Answer

Yes! And no! After the ceremony, we ask everyone to proceed downstairs for cake, cookies, coffee, and a first dance! There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area afterwards if you need something more substantial.

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. The church has a no alcohol policy on their grounds and we will be respectful of that policy. Please enjoy some tea, coffee, and sparkling water with your cake 🎂

I am from the fencing community, do I bring a blade?

Answer

Yes! There is a request for fencers to dress appropriately for church but pack a weapon (😉). We will ask fencers to line the walk up the alter to create an arch of blades for the newlyweds (us!) to walk under/out of the sanctuary following the service (but before cake). Think tunnel for the bride and groom to walk through 🤺

I am from the fencing club/high school - can I attend the wedding?

Answer

Absolutely! We look forward to see all our friends and family that can make it to our wedding. It is last minute but if you want to see us in a rare formal attire, this is your chance. Everyone is welcome 💞

Question

What side do I take for the bride/groom?

Answer

There will be reserved seating in the front for immediate family etc but if not labeled otherwise, sit wherever you’d like. Facing the altar, the bride will be on the left and groom on the right. Makes no difference to us but just because people have asked. Hope you can make it!
