Engagement
On Valentine’s Day, Josh told Jeni to just relax and enjoy the ride. They drove east along Lake Pend Oreille on HWY 200, crossing into Montana—her first time ever. She loved being his “passenger princess,” soaking in the peaceful beauty of Bull Lake Loop. Then she spotted the sign: Kootenai Falls – 3 miles. “Are we?!” she asked excitedly. Josh smiled, “Well, what did the sign say?”
They hiked the trails, crossed the Swinging Bridge, and explored every overlook. Eventually, they found a quiet beach wrapped in waterfalls. Completely distracted trying to capture the perfect panoramic photo, Jeni had no idea Josh was behind her on one knee. When she turned, she laughed, “What are you doing?” He grinned, “I’m trying to do something here, but you’re making it a little difficult.”
Tears followed, along with a joyful yes. They ended the day at The Kootenai Inn, beginning a new Valentine’s tradition full of adventure and forever.
